Moshe Yair was born in 1959 in the old city of Safed, seventh generation of his family. His art is inspired by Biblical texts, which come alive in the lanes of the Old City. The texts and watercolor paintings oover a wide range of Jewish themes. Among his works can be found such texts as the Songs of Solomon, also known as Shir HaShirim. Still others portray the grieving in Lamentations, the sorrow of Ecclesiastes, the suffering of the Jewish people in Egypt as depicted in the Passover Hagadah, the hardships experienced in the desert wamderings of the Jewish people, etc. Moshe also creates a series of 3-D and oil paintings, which are inspired by the lanes and passages of Safed. In all of his works the holy ambiance of Safed emanates.
The book of Song of Songs is written in micro calligraphy throughout the walls and background of this beautiful piece that is then enhanced by the beautiful handpainted watercolor. Each pieces is unique as Moshe paints each piece in a different watercolor palette
The entire Torah, all Five Books of Moses in micro calligraphy on the walls and hills of Jerusalem.
